Frank on the Issues
I am a proud Democrat. I believe:
That access to high quality, affordable health care is imperative to keep children and families healthy, and to help small businesses thrive. All families deserve to get the health care they need to prevent illness, and to be able to access the care they need when they are sick. Small businesses can not continue to bear the increasing burden of health insurance; we must create a fair health care system.
That we must protect the environment because future generations deserve a clean, safe, and healthy Rhode Island. We must reduce our impact on our environment and invest in new ways of doing business that promote environmental stewardship.
That public schools are the backbone of our educational system and that teachers are heroes. I know that we must invest in our schools to secure our future and the long-term economic health of our communities. We must secure increased state aid to protect our schools and reduce our reliance on property taxes.
That seniors deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Seniors should never have to choose between keeping the lights on in their homes, or purchasing medications that can improve their health and quality of life. Programs that allow seniors choice, and provide the support they need to remain living in their own homes as long as they can are imperative. Long term care should be well regulated, safe, and affordable.
That our economy relies on hard working families. Working families need access to safe, affordable childcare, living wages, affordable housing and utilities.
That all Rhode Islanders deserve to be treated equally and fairly, and to have their rights protected.
